LBJ had the benefit of a Democrat super majority in the Senate for the entirety of his presidency. Easy to avoid filibusters when then opposition does not even have enough seats to consider a filibuster.

Hate to break it to you, sparky, but I'm a centrist. The extreme Democrat agenda of the last 4 years is pushing me further to the right, but a centrist I remain.

I also couldn't help but notice you took that one little snipet out of my post, but "conveniently" ignored the meat of it, which was a very valid thing to consider.

Have fun twisting in the wind there.

1954-1961 - ONE filibuster

2010 - EIGHTY FOUR filibusters

The GOP has broken the Senate, intentionally

Rachel Maddow is just smart enough and just sarcastic enough to attract the kind of viewers who don't bother to do any of their own thinking and convince them that she is intellectually honest.

Which she is not.

He's one of the best of modern times.

When will you get it? Maddow represents the fringe Left of society, the extreme - why would anyone in the middle/right of common sense, who make up the vast majority of the US, listen to his blathering rhetoric?

Only if you're a raving neocon. To anyone on the left, left center, center, or center right, he's an abomination (FTR, I fall somewhere between center and center right).

Alito at least has a libertarian streak to him. There's at least that tiny thing in his favor. Roberts is just an extremist right-winger.

He's a handsome little guy. I bet he does well with the ladies.

And he tries real hard to be taken seriously. I guess he is by the dozen or so viewer he gets.

I especially like the commercial that shows little Ralphie Madcow "working" before his broadcast every night. How hard is it to say "republicans suck!" or "Tesbaggers suck!"?

Their new slogan "Lean forward"....why? So we can see who is a man and who is a woman?

And lean as far back as possible when looking at Andrea Mitchell. Ewwwwww!
