Frank takes Bachus to task over ’serve the banks’ comment - Political Watch - MarketWatch

Rep Bachus "....Washington and the regulators are there to serve the banks" - Democratic Underground

Where's the anger? Why is there not a lynch mob outside Baccus' office? And why can't I find the story on the major neworks?

At least he's honest. If you think about it what he said has been said over and over but worded differently. These banks better be careful, real careful. As far as Congress goes, they are on thin ice, the lowest ratings ever recorded and it better not continue.

This is the first I heard of it and I have a feeling there will be Tea Party patriots outside his Helena office the first week in January.

Surprised? Hell, this is old news. The guy represents the wealthiest district in his state so OF COURSE he's strongly pro-Banks!

Well hell, looking at what they do vs what they say, it's obvious the banks are putting on a an entire puppet show with our representatives....

... But now they say it in plain English with no public reaction? If this had come over in the 1960's people would be pulling down every big bank brick by brick right now!!! They would have sent their reps to kick turds down the road without waiting for an election!!

He's proud to be bought and paid for by the banks. Again, he's from the wealthiest and most conservative district in his state...Alabama..which is saying a LOT!! My best guess is that when the voters of his district read his comments, they beamed with hometown pride. I'd bet every dollar on it. His comments really aren't all that radical when you consider where his party is right now.

Barney Frank? The same individual who stood up for Fannie and Freddie before they were found to be insolvent?
Regulators are there to serve the bank.. Why else would they be there?

Regulators are there to serve the bank? Are cops there to serve the criminals too? Does a presssure regulator "serve" the water that goes through it? Does a speed governer "serve" an engine?

No, a regular limits, controls, and otherwise makes beneficial... not serves whatever it is doing.

Your "regulators" serving the banks are the proverbial "Dracula guarding the bloodbank"
