Iran's influence in Iraq: Game, set but not match to Tehran
Saddam Hussein's removal has allowed Iraq's Shia neighbour to become the most influential outside power in the country
Today, Iraq is to Iran as Lebanon was to Syria," intoned an Iraqi politician during a recent off-the-record briefing in Washington. The sentiment is commonly expressed by Iraqis, the US's Arab allies and by many American diplomats and soldiers: that the United States removed Iran's most inveterate opponent - Saddam Hussein's regime - and then allowed Tehran to become the most influential outside power in Iraq.
Wikileaks cables back that up.
And it's not "Bush's war"..we cannot go to war unless Congress approves.
Blame OUR GOVERNMENT for saying yes when they should have said no.
Sending the CIA on a covert mission to get Bin Laden is what should have happened.
Makes one wonder how that one objective..get Bin Laden got so warped and is no longer the objective and we move from nation to nation "fighting terrorism". What an expensive farce.

What part of Commander in Chief are you having difficulty with? Congress voted to fund the war, they did not mandate we enter it. The final go/no go decision rests with the CinC.

Fine..you folks blame Bush and then sit back and don't worry anymore because it's not your guy's war (Obama).
Two years after Bush is gone..we don't seem to be any better off.
Billions keep flowing into Iraq and now Afghanistan wants their bribe money and fancy infrastructure.
Being in the ME will just bring us to our knees that much quicker regardless of who owns this war.
So when he says in his book that HE made the decision to invade Iraq he's lying?
bush may have made the final decision to invade iraq, because that is his power to do so, BUT congress had to vote to allow the use of force, since the invasion was going to take more than 90 days, and congress had to fund the invasion.
We all believed the lies just as Congress did. There were represenatives that voted "no". Kucinich and Sanders, just to name a couple.
right, the EXACT SAME LIES THAT THE DEMOCRATS TOLD TWO YEARS BEFORE BUSH WAS ELECTED PRESIDENT. and yet you continue to make the claim that bush lied and the democrats bought the lie. you cant have it both ways. if bush lied, then so did both clintons, albright, gephardt, kerry, edwards, and many others in the democrat leadership.

Deep down the leftists know that but they hate to admit it!
I will add that either Bush AND the entire international intelligence community AND the U.S. Senate and House intelligence committee "lied" or non of them did. It can't be both ways.

He can send troops anywhere he wants..and has been able to for a while.
I agree that we can't really call it "Bush's war" though, because the current President has had two years to withdraw troops, and has not done so.
