Oh and by the way....all the poor and middle class whites that voted overwhelmingly for Republicans?

You'll feel the healthcare and education cuts due to you not supporting a progressive State income tax.

Krugman hates Texas with a passion.
That's not a current budget deficit..that's future.
Our state government does 2 year budgets and they are doing it this year.

The cuts are going across the board with smaller cuts to schools.
Just in the Austin area several schools just announced hiring freezes and several school closings with consolidation of students into other schools.

Texas has not issued any IOUs like California has and if the cuts are made and the rainy day fund is not dipped into then we may be OK.

So what is CA doing to reign in their financial problems ?

No one but those magazines have been tooting how good Texas is.
I being a realist here; there's no way Texas can NOT feel the pain of budget woes. The cuts will happen and are.
I'm just glad to see cuts and not talk of higher taxes.

Ha! Texas has the lowest spending per pupil and you are OK with it to go lower still so that your richest 1% can enjoy their State income tax free lifestyles.....Sucker born "every 30 seconds" in Texas.

Also if you can refute what Krugman says as he quotes where he gets is data....please have at it.

Nope I wasn't born here but I got here as fast as I could.
No state income tax and it suits me fine.
Cuts are across the board...there's plenty of room for cuts in schools; they are not laying off English and Math teachers first if that's what you are thinking.

Don't think that your state can just go on spending and turn around and tax the rich because it won't work. Eventually your state too will have to start cutting too.

Go whine to Obama about your "tax the rich" cause I don't care.

Wow..Brown is waving that machete isn't he.
Actually refreshing to see cuts rather than tax increases.

That's typical. You enjoyed a education from a State that spends a good amount on your education then you move your skills to Texas where you deny that same gratitude to the kids of that State.

Texas comptroller's plan would cut 12,000 teaching jobs to save $558 million | News for Dallas, Texas | Dallas Morning News | News: Education

Taxes can help fund schools, if the right policies are in place.
