The problem is, the government cannot be everywhere, you must defend yourself at times. If you don't have a gun then what do you have? Guns are the great equalizer, being that anyone with a gun is equal to the other guy with a gun, regardless of height, strength, age, etc.
If there becomes another non-lethal way to defend yourself that is as reliable and available as a gun, then we might talk. Until then, we will have to tolerate things like this happening, but try our best to prevent it.
Obviously you can say, you can't have guns in an imperfect world. So until the world is perfect, then no one should have guns. But if the world was perfect no one would need guns. The whole thing is a catch-22.
Hmmmmmm..........misleading thread title indeed. Are democrats proud of their divisiveness created and distrubuted as illustrated so very clearly in the OP's link? Are you libs?

I am very proud to be a conservative thank you very much!
And I would be ashamed if I were a liberal and trying to place blame on anyone who disagrees with them, and continuing with the rhetoric. Morally repugnant.
Don't they see that doing what they are doing is so hypocritical; increasing the animosity between the two parties and the hate.

I would be ashamed if I did not understand that both right and left have some blame to share in contributing to the divisiveness that helps spur the nuts like the Tucson shooter. I don't think it's an even balance, but both do it.
