It should only matter what the people of Chicago think. I have my own dumb local politicians to worry about.

If they vote him in, fine. However, I do think it will continue to perpetuate the impression that Chicago politics are corrupt.

God help Chicago. Illinois does not need another bad politician, as they already have plenty.

Actually they're made for each other.

Ah, it's interesting that you say that because that kinda relates to the point of me having a question about him becoming Mayor. My view is this: even if you don't live in Chicago, having Rahm Emanuel as the Mayor does affect you and is your business, that is IF you live and/or work in the United States. Maybe even if you DON'T live in the U.S., but that is stretching it a little too far in a way, lol. Chicago is a major city, obviously, what happens there affects all of us in the U.S.. So, to me, with Chicago's history and how politicians have always tried to use it and abuse it, it would be better for one of American's largest and most influential cities to have the best Mayor possible. It's a trickle-down effect, I think. We want our major cities to prosper, not be subject to further down-spiral.

I'm sure he would not let any crisis go to waste.

Rahm has been "chosen". Doors are opening, rules are changed or bent. (residency requirements).
He WILL be the next mayor.
Yeah! Gotta keep that political machine oiled and rolling.

How many big city mayors can you name off the top of your head right now?

Villaraigosa in Los Angeles (that's not hard to know), Bloomberg in New York (another easy one, it's hard to be a lover of NYC and not know its Mayors), Gavin Newsome (REPLACED by Lee), Michael Coleman of Columbus (I know that because I used to live there and Columbus is a thriving place for business). Also, of course Daley, who is the one that is not returning to Chicago.

Why do you ask me that question?
