Ok... so a few points to adress

1st. They're gay, cool, but honestly, so what? Moving on.

2nd. DCSDLCD you really can't speak on something you don't understand. We are not perverts. Most of us are normal people who couldn't control how we ended up. You can't just try to blindly label a group of people and justify it with.... well honestly anything. You have hardened your heart to an entire section of humanity. That is not something to be proud of.

If we are apparently so predictable, please, list my religion, interests, voice tone and major. Clearly it can be easy for you being I'm just some gay pervert.

The correct terminology is ORIENTATION........just like we are bombarded by heterosexuality daily.......both orientations are simply a part of life.....get used to it....I have..

Short answer....to your question....just to bug you! .

Just announce the name. We should be beyond caring about the other details.
I totally agree but alas that's not the way the world works. For instance why throw someone's Heterosexuality in my face.....by announcing that they are married.....shouldn't their sexuality be private.....just as you say the gays should be....DOUBLE STANDARDS at it's worst! The gay youth need positive role models....just like everyone else!

This is starting to read like some AA story.
Are gays now an official minority with minority status and benefits ?

I mean..they could be very qualified for the job but it seems them being gay is being pushed in front of that. Shouldn't matter what their sexual preference is.
It shouldn't but when you have people up in arms over a stupid Doritos commercial or people saying that the gays will rape their children...then showing people that gay people are just as capable is still needed.

As long as the "evil" gay stereotype is as pervasive as it currently is, there will still be the need to show that gay people are just as capable as anyone else.

There also needs to be positive role models for those people that are young and gay. Our society says that being gay is somehow bad. That's why gay teens are at a high risk of suicide and homelessness. Having positive role models is essential for people to identify with.

If we overcome our current ignorance, we can finally just have the name...not sexual orientation or race included.

Or we can get so wrapped up in the correctness that we stiffle all.

No kidding! Who the heck cares if they are gay, as long as they do their jobs correctly, who really cares? But if they are Obama's guys, well then, you know how that will go......

So what you are saying is that there will be no more mentioning of whether someone is married etc....because you are then throwing it in my face and announcing your sexuality to the world......No more appearing with your spouse on TV or at interviews either.

Funny how the gays should be quiet about their lives but everyone else can supply all the details they wish....and that's fine with you. Well....it's a prejudiced viewpoint on your part unless there is NO mention of marriage etc. and no spouses involved. GET IT NOW!.

Otherwise it sounds like SPECIAL RIGHTS for heterosexuals to me. Open your mind and see both sides of the fence.......you want your cake and to eat it too....but gays only can have the crumbs.

Its not "correctness". We live in an age where scientific breakthroughs are a normal occurrence, but we base our marriage laws on ancient desert scrolls.

Lets just hear why the person is qualified to hold that particular position. Thats all we really need to know.
Well for those three positions, their sexual orientation is part of why they would be qualified.
