As far as Obama writing articles, it takes something from your post when you can't write it with proper grammar...
Irony alert.

So what it may have taken much too long, so what sometimes things that are worth it and take time, is something very good. This is a small step but gigantic in nature, and very good to have happened. Does not matter it took so long, this is a step in the right direction. Race, and Sexual orientation, should never inpact a person from moving ahead in life, in education, in a relationship, people are human, all want to achieve being sucessful and happy.

The fact that people are making a big deal about his sexuality is a huge slap in the face to the homosexual community. They should be honoring his accomplishments, talents, ideas, character, and goals. If he did outreach or volunteer work for a local gay organization then that is something to recognize. But to celebrate his sexuality in pretentious fashion is fatuous and diverting.

I may be wrong, but I seriously doubt Harvard did this for publicity - more due to this man's merits.
I agree.....this will reflect on Harvard; so I'm sure he is both articulate and qualified for his position and to help represent the University's students..

It should not be an issue but for many in America it is unfortunately.

Gay youth need role models just like all younger people......that's why he needs to "advertise" it.

Every time you say you are married or have a girlfriend or kids etc..OR talk about your relationships........Aren't you "ADVERTISING" your sexuality.. Something to think about next time!...You take it all for granted....gay people have NO such "luxury"..

Most gays in a position of power are put there to neutralize or fragment the group and individuals.

I'm being realistic. I've seen this with almost every minority group and minority community.

That process is quite typical, usually the speech writer has their finger on the pulse of who is making the speech and just writes what they are told the topic will be covering. Then like an actor they write the script as for a play.

They all do that, though not all try and bring far left socialism to the USA.
Actually, Obama writes most of his own speeches and works with speechwriters to refine them.

Back to the topic - congratulations are in order until the day comes that we no longer need to see such people as exceptions to the norm.
