"Algerian security forces and pro-democracy protesters have clashed in the capital, Algiers, amid demonstrations inspired by the revolution in Egypt.
At least 2,000 protesters were able to overcome a security cordon enforced around the city's May First Square on Saturday, joining other demonstrators calling for reform."

Very interesting link. These "leaders", "rulers", "presidents", etc, may THINK that all this spending will do them good - but in reality they are only buying time. It'll certainly be interesting to see what happens in Algeria.
I read where the Bahrain King is paying citizens the equivalent of about $2700 dollars not to demonstrate. I wonder if that will be enough for them to sell their souls?

Well, if this event takes the course of normal Sunni - Shia conflict, it could potentially turn ugly regardless. Who knows.
Some of those concessions / bribes are mighty alluring. Who wants to revolt when you've got a full stomach? Guess we'll have to wait and see. Strange days in the Middle East and N. Africa, that's for sure.
