Free speech comes with some basic responsibilities.....baseless ad hominum attacks don't fall under that category while simple courtesy and civility do.

If the kid that called him a racist was one of my children, I'd pull him out of school and take him to the recruiting station immediately. There would be a more valuable lesson he could learn there than at Columbia.

You may have missed this part of what I said as well:

Universities should not be involved in military activities,” Sociology Professor Emeritus Herbert Gans told The Post. “Columbia should come out against spending $300 billion a year on unnecessary wars.”
Fair enough. We won't jeer you or call you names for expressing your opinion.

But they're living up to the oath they took and don't deserve the blame, put the blame squarely on the politicians who start the often unnecessary wars, not those who do a job they swore they would.

I'd gladly kill a few cloth-noggins if but for a very small bit of good to the Grand Republic. I'd kill them like I kill deer.

No one forced students to attend the presentation. If they do not agree they do not have to attend or could protest outside without interrupting the invited speaker.

Perhaps people just don't have any sense of manners; but, when you invite someone to be your guest you do not ambush them when they accept the invitation.

I must've missed all the applicable rules in the Bill of Rights, care to point them out?

Maybe you can negotiate with those that make war upon us.

What's so special about a bunch of mercenaries signing up to fight in an immoral and illegal war for a paycheck and free college?

So why aren't you out there killing our so called enemies?

Or does your bravery stop at the armchair?
