In all but one state, prostitution is illegal. In it's simplest form, prostitution is having sex for money. However in many more states it's legal to film a pornography movie which involves paying men and women to have sex. The main difference is in the latter, the person isn't being paid to sexually please the customer. It's a fine distinction but is it enough of a distinction to warrant prostitution to continue to be a criminal offense in the majority of states? Personally, I feel it should be legalized, taxed, registration (to help prevent child prostitution), STD screening, and since it would no longer be an illegal occupation, ask them to report to the police any child prostitution they may know about to get help for the young girls and prosecute their pimps and Johns.
Oh sure. If that happened, they'd be responsible to pay taxes, be eligible for Social Security when they "retire".
Prostitution should never be a "vocation" that is held to any standard of legitimacy.
And yet porn actors are. In many nations, prostitution is not illegal. Sex with consenting adults is legal. Paying someone for their service is legal. So why should it be illegal to pay someone for the service of sex but legal to pay actors to have sex in front of the camera? Adults consenting to having sex via prostitution isn't a problem. The problem is child prostitution and sex slave industry.
In one instance, one is paid to service another. In another, both are paid to entertain a third party.
Prostitution is prostitution, porn is entertainment. It's apples and oranges...or rather red apples and green apples.

Or so they would say.
I can buy the red apples and green apples analogy.
Both are essentially the same, though one records the sex on camera. And let's be honest... Neither industry is good.
Big porn studios treat their actors much better than in decades past. Medical testing, agents who were once porn actors, and actresses being able to dictate in contract what they will or will not do. It's surprising what some porn actors did before porn. Ron Jeremy was a public school teacher in New York and Nina Hartley was a registered Nurse in California.

I am sure that the women being cheating on are consenting...
Many men doing this are married..... this is not victimless at this point given STD's and cheating
It is not going to be legal (outside of Nevada) anytime soon.... so loser guys and druggie girls will always have to look over their shoulder for Offiicer Friendly
