Charlie is a no-talent, whiny, self indulgent jerk. His problems go beyond drug and alcohol addiction. He is a violent, loud mouthed, delusional man. Yeah, he may have some mental issues, but his first step should be to shut up, take the responsibility for his actions and, most importantly, take responsibility for his FIVE children. Those poor kids deserve better parents than they have.
I feel NO sympathy for this blow hard. He needs to fade from the spotlight. Oh, and he is aging very badly to boot. Just sayin'

Everyone is well-versed in Rush's bout with prescription drug addicition, and to be perfectly honest, none of these details matter. He was in great pain, sought medical treatment for that pain, and became dependent on it. None of the gory details amount to spit.
You may think it is a great Sherlock Holmes case of great import, but none of it matters. It all stemmed from a legitimate medical need and snowballed from there. All else is nullity including who he got it from, how he got it etc. You act surprised that he did what people in that situation do, well surprise, surprise, the only surprise is that you think it matters in the main or otherwise.
Despicable attacks on a man's legitimate health issues for sick political gain. Shame for you is the order of the day, plus, of course, bannishment.

Most 45 year olds look a lot worse than Sheen does. Anyone that thin at that age will look that way. Though you can tell chain smoking has affected his skin.

I can't help wondering about the parents of the young man (Angus T. Jones) on the show. How do they justify continuing to expose their son to this person?
How about $300,000./per episode? How about a $500,000. signing bonus? How about a $7.8 million two year guarantee? There's your justification.
Yes, it is enormously petty to try to gloss over Limbaugh's drug "issues." He did become addicted through his on fault (personal responsibility and all that) because his doctors started reducing his medications precisely to prevent him from being addicted, but Rush chose to "doctor shop" for the drug, and then he got his housekeeper to buy it for him. Why didn't dear Mr. Limbaugh seek help for his addiction BEFORE HE GOT CAUGHT BY THE AUTHORITIES? He certainly has enough money to pay for a very nice drug rehab facility? So don't give me that "innocent" crap about he got addicted through no fault of his own. HIS DOCTORS decreased his dosage gradually, as good medical practice, but Rush never told his doctors that his pain was so sever that he just couldn't deal with it. Like I said, he decided the best way to deal with his addiction was to "doctor shop" then buy it illegally off the streets.
And you will notice that I'm not saying there's any connection between Limbaugh being a raging far right wing conservative and his addiction. There is NO CONNECTION there any more than there is a connection between liberals and drug addiction. Drug addiction is an "equal opportunity" problem! Thank you very much.

Not sure why anyone is particularly surprised at Sheen's behavior. In this country we treat entertainers like royalty and excuse them from the commonly-held behaviors that the rest of society is expected to live by. When you pay someone 2 million dollars an episode of a television show you are telling him that he is the "absolute best" there is and that kind of adulation can't help but make Charlie feel omnipotent and free to do whatever he dam* well pleases. Look at how many times Robert Downey Jr. was out of control and went to rehab; look at how many passes has Lindsay Lohan gotten; Mickey Rourke and Amy Winehouse and so many others... As long as "we" hold entertainers to a different standard than the rest of us have to adhere to, this will be the oh-so-predictable outcome for more than a few of them.
