Would you tolerate it?

It's a trick question.

If they were concentrating on the Tea Party I would have to think about it.

Wow, now that's the kind of tolerance and brilliant thinking I've come to expect from this place.

I live in an area with a super-high concentration of military (~15-20 distinct bases IIRC). I'm used to being out in public and seeing "foreign troops". I've had excellent conversations with men and women from all over the world.

We've had foreign troops on US soil continuously. Fellow NATO, for example. But, this begs the question: If we don't like it (and won't tolerate it), then why do we feel it is ok to do it? As for it being OK if they target the Tea Party - bad idea. They are the ones who have guns. They will pick on the flower children of the left cuz they are some easy pickings there.

I don't tolerate US troops on foreign soil, much less tolerate foreign troops on US. Outside of joint-exercises, of course.

Troops from friendly nations training here is acceptable, troops occupying or patrolling streets, is not.

Here's what I find peculiar -

the crowd that is against having "furrin armies" on our soil, seems to be the same crowd with the most support for having OUR armies deployed in foreign countries.

I was being sarcastic. I would consider foreign troops as a source of weapons and ammunition. sort of like what the Afghanis are doing to us.

that depends on why the troops are here. if they are allies being trained by our military, having joint exercises with our military, or have other good reason to be here, i have no issue. if on the other hand they are here to try and take over this country, then kill them all and let god sort them out,its his job.
