The rate of disapproval from the 18-29 group doesn't surprise me one bit. We're talking about a state wherein many high schools were still holding segregated proms well into the 2000's. Some probably still do.

You are right people should be able to marry who they want ant not marry who they want. That is the whole point, and its why its so ridiculous that 46% of Mississippi Republicans believe that whites and blacks should not be allowed to marry. They want to make the decisions for other people on who others should be legally allowed to marry or not based on race.

Did you not bother to read the OP? The poll results showed not that Republicans just oppose interracial marriage in principle, but that they want to BAN it for everyone!

So, where are the results for Mississippi Democrats? I think the results of that poll would be more shocking than polling the GOP.
The county by county results of when Alabama held a vote on this is 2000 showed very different results between Republican and Democratic counties. Its likely the same in Mississippi.
