These things used to have a natural way of working themselves out. What parent wants their daughter to be referred to as the "town bicycle" by her peers?

Yep, young teens won't engage in something they never would, although have been, unless they were given a sex education and condoms if they must. Or so the Ostrich Syndrome doctrine tells.

Abstinence only worked for Bristol Palin.

Oh, wait, no it didn't.

Most 11 y.o. boys are going to fill those suckers with water and drop them on their younger sibling.

For God's sake relax.

The rest of that posting wasn't necessary; this one sentence actually summed up the whole problem. What must Mom & Dad be doing--and what kind of parents can they possibly be--if their 11-year-old darlings are busily engaged in procreation, to the exclusion of practically anything else?

I thought most 11 year old boys still thought girls had cooties. But I suppose condoms cost less than paying part of the cost of bringing up a child to vote Democrst.

I guess since we as a society are obviously saying we want 11 year olds to have sex (or at least that we approve of it if they choose to have it) by handing out free condoms then we will also have no problem if that 11 year old chooses an adult as their partner, right?

First off the condoms aren't SOLELY for 11 year olds. That makes a HUGE difference. Originally I thought that they were distributing them at elementary schools. The program is between the ages of 11 and 19. HUGE difference. Thus, the majority will be between 15-17 (pretty normal age for having sex for the first time)

Giving condoms to teens is not a bad idea. The average age of intercourse is between 16 and 17. This program is between the ages of 11 and 19.

What is wrong with giving teens education and preventing STDs?

OP, stop being intentionally misleading.

The last time I looked 11 and 12 year olds are not teens.

So does this mean boys don't have "Cooties" any more!!

Why do schools think they need to do the job of a parent. If they would just teach Math, Science and History, our kids will learn about sex soon enough.

Condoms For 11 Year Olds? Or Keep It In Your Pants?
Keep it in your pants. But if you don't, wear a condom.
