Should the Tea Party separate itself from the GOP and form it's own 3rd Party with independent candidates?

Yes. That way, it forces the GOP to be more honest if they want to form a coalition with the tea party. It forces the GOP to be more fiscally prudent, and will help to differentiate the GOP from the Democrats

Not until they help the Republcan Party lose the 2012 preisidential election.

At that point it will be obvious there is no way that Tea Party supporters and more moderate conservatives in the Republican Party can survive together.

Why do people who hate the Tea Party talk about it non stop?

The U.S. political structure cannot abide more than two parties; the rise of a new one for any prolonged period of time can only come from the death and replacement of an old one. If this happened the new party would die or become what it replaced in quick order.

First past the post, winner take all isn't a very friendly system to third parties.

We've already thought about this question. In fact, in the run up to the 2010 elections, the Left/MSM were praying the TP would do just that. Unfortunately for them, that didn't happen, nor will it happen in 2012.

Absolutely not.

The Tea Party became typical Republicans when they allowed the Religious Right to hijack them also.

Those of us who believe in fiscal responsibility should support the Libertarians as the 3rd Party that actually WILL effect change, instead of just promising it. Only Libertarian politicians are willing to ignore both main partys' dedication to Free Trade, Globalization, devaluation of the dollar, and multiple foreign wars. All of these are destroying America, and if we want it to survive in any form, we will need to stop electing exactly the same politicians that continue to run the nation into the ground.

I see where many Tea Party members claim to be Libertarians.

They also want Ron Paul to lead the way.

So, if that is not the case, who are they claiming to be?
