By more than 3-to-1, those surveyed say the deficit stems from too much spending, rather than too little tax revenue.
When it comes to solving the deficit problem, about half of Americans, 48%, want to do it entirely or mostly with spending cuts.
Republicans hold a 12-percentage-point edge over Democrats as the party better able to handle the budget, and a 5-point edge on the economy in general.
People are not falling for obama and the dems LIES about ending Medicare.
You'd think after decades of that well-worn page from their playbook being pulled out again and again, they would know better.
President Barack Obama misrepresented the House Republicans’ budget plan at times and exaggerated its impact on U.S. residents during an April 13 speech on deficit reduction.
Not sure if it's your reading comprehension that is zero, or you don't read your sources, or both.

The poll also shows the perils ahead for the GOP in moving from general principles to specific actions. Two-thirds of Americans worry the Republican plan for reducing the budget deficit would cut Medicare and Social Security too much.
Ryan and other Republican House members already have faced hostile questions at town-hall-style meetings in their home districts from seniors and others about the GOP proposal to turn the nation’s health care program for the elderly into what would essentially be a voucher system.

•Nearly two-thirds, 64%, fear the Republicans’ deficit plan will take away needed protections for the poor and the disadvantaged and will “protect the rich at the expense of everyone else.”
What you quoted didn't even include anything about Democrats or Republicans.

and those surveyed put more trust in Republicans than Democrats to handle the federal budget and the economy.

Nearly three-fourths of those surveyed, 71%, worry that the Democrats’ plan “won’t go far enough to fix the problem”; 62% fear they might use the deficit as an excuse to raise taxes.

The above is HUGE, because this is what it comes down to - tax the rich or cut the spending and clearly the public sides wiwth the GOP.
Almost 50% want the budget balanced with spending cuts.
80% of the people in the Country know what Ryan's Folly of a plan will do. The GOP members are the ones that need to read the, shall we say tea leaves, if they hope to be reelected.

So what exactly will it do. Address our out-of-control spending? Something the Dems aren't really discussing. Cut our deficit? Something the Dems haven't had an interest in addressing the last few years.
I know, you'll shriek that the plan guts Medicare. Except the pesky little detail is that Obama's already done that. And his plan will only deal with the deficit in 12 years, because it will do less than nothing in 10. His second plan, that is. The first was a bomb. And the Dems plan........oh wait, there isn't one.
Tough choices need to be made, and mocking a plan that does that is laughable.
