It's almost 6 months into Congress with the new Tea Party Republicans in the House of Resprentatives. Now, do you think they have lived up to their promises they made during theur campaign or at least tried to?

Hard to say. Six months isn't very long. Those newbies got schooled by John Boehner during negotiations of the last budget bill. I'm sure they have learned their lesson.

I think they're trying to understand how to work within the confines of the Republican party as influenced by the TEA Party.
Not sure I'm satisfied with results but we can fix that next year. It wasn't a one shot glass of TEA. It's an ongoing process.
It's only been six months and has led to the republicans to control only one third of the government. Whether or not they will have a lasting effect on the direction of our government remains to be seen. What I can say now is I'm happy that the issues we are now discussions isn't how big we can grow our government but just how and where we can make expendature cuts. I call that progress.

What you said Dutch. The discussions about spending are serious, but I wish they would consider all of the budget, not just entitlements.
There are only a few that are true tea party candidates.
Not all Republicans are tea party conservatives.
The only true tea party conservatives in the GOP today are Ron Paul, Rand Paul, and possibly Jim DeMint but I haven't scrutinized him enough yet. Paul Ryan I'm not sure about. He's a fiscal conservative sure, but I don't know about his foreign policy stance and things like that.
