I don't want to make too much fun of this situation since I honestly believe that Roger McDowell's behavior was seriously offensive and juvenile, but Gloria Allred did not help the situation with her news conference.
I'm sorry that this family was offended by someone's behavior, but that experience doesn't rise to the level of hiring a pop-culture-attorney and holding a press conference. This is political correctness run amok. I can only assume that Allred has run out of nuisance-level sexual harassment cases to pursue.
I feel especially bad about the fact that this couple trotted their twin daughters in front of the camera for something this ridiculous. The girls do seem to handle things well--they try hard not to giggle every time Allred stumbles to avoid a "naughty" word.
I can't imagine that witnessing McDowell's idiocy on the field could possibly have been more traumatic than watching MS. Allred slowly thrust a Louisville Slugger through their father's strangely contorted left hand.
