I haven't been following this story closely since from my perspective it seems like an internal conflict. Certainly it's awful people are dying but such is life. Hopefully the combatants can come to their senses and work it out.

So I was reading how China and Russia vetoed some UN Resolution and our UN ambassador was outraged. Yet I'm not getting a clear answer as to why. Why is America more concerned about the internal affairs of countries when other powers who are closer to the scene are not?

I suppose it's easy to back something that you know will be vetoed anyway, so let others be the bad guys

China and Russia are buying our products, Syria, not so much.

We should be concerned with how every nation treats their citizens. But we shouldn't be actively intervening in their politics to get an outcome that we find preferable.

Who says they are not concerned? You appear to have not considered the 2nd possibility for not interfering -- they are satisfied with the status quo.

If the Syrian regime is hostile to Israel, and Israel is a close ally of the United States, and the United States is a direct competitor to them, then their interests are served by the Syrian regime solidifying its power. So of course they are not going to embrace a UN resolution which will weaken the Syrian government's ability to suppress the rebels.

They are concerned about it. They don't agree with the solution presented.

[which is why they vetoed it]

They ain't got long to wait either....jacking around in the ME up against poorly trained folks with lower tech weapons is like rabbit hunting with a bazooka...if we screw with Russia or China it'll be like us trying to hunt bears with a switch...best for the US politicians to learn to keep their fat mouths shut and exist in peace rather than stirring that hornets nest up for absolutely no reason .
