"Israel government 'reckless and irresponsible' says ex-Mossad chief
Meir Dagan attacks Binyamin Netanyahu for aggression towards Iran, and for failing to make any progress with the Palestinians"

"Dagan's intervention is dangerous for Netanyahu because it comes from the right wing of Israeli opinion rather than the left, where the prime minister would expect criticism."

"Ben Caspit of the Maariv newspaper wrote: "He is one of the most rightwing militant people ever born here ... who ate Arabs for breakfast, lunch and dinner."

The problem is that Netanyahu prefers a "controlled" staus quo to conceeding land that they are illegally occupying". Even the right wing in Israel can see that this is not a good way forward.

Good article, it points out that there is considerable disagreement within Israel about it's foreign policy and national defense policy. The fact is comes from a former high ranking official in the Israeli nation defense structure means it's not something that can be discredited based his credentials.
