No because the cost society alot when they are injuried badly.Liberty does not involve allowig people to make themselves a dependent of society thru their own irreseponsibilty really.
If everyone who was injured or killed because of not wearing one was fully insured and had no dependents who'd then be using public assistance, I'd say do what you want to satisfy your petty and reckless independence.
all the studies surveys show how important seat belts are, and i believe most, if not all states have the click it or ticket campaign.
shouldnt it be left up to us whether or not we wear a seat belt. it only impacts us, doesnt harm anybody else.
at the same time this is something most people are ok with being forced to do.
imo we shouldnt need a law on the books, and leave it up to the people.
i myself rarely wear my seatbelt. not overweight or anything, just dont like the feel of it.
How do you figure you'd like the feel of your face going through the windshield or being ejected from the car during a roll over? IMO there's absolutely no reason not to wear a seat belt.
I don't like being forced to do allot of things but this isn't one of them.
Yup (for myself) but still waiting for the invention of a seat belt for short people so we don't feel like our their neck is being cut off, especially bad in two-door cars.
Would anyone here who currently wears a seat belt stop wearing it if it were not required?
Chances are, a lot of people would. But more importantly, virtually everybody started wearing seat belts because of the law, not because they fell in love with it.
1. No, I am not okay with being legally required to wear it.
2. Only a fool would drive or ride in a car without the seat belt fastened. I never do it.
So let me get this straight....you're not ok with being forced to wear one yet you would NEVER not wear a seatbelt.
So what does it matter if you are legally required to or not? By you own admission you're always going to wear one.
Just gotta rebel against something right?
