Obama is exactly following the Bush Doctrine to a T and there's a 98% chance the next president will do the same. Actually, didn't Clinton involve us in wars too? And Bush 41? And Reagan? Oh my Lord, they really are all the same aren't they? They just come in different flavors
For the most part that is correct. Their are only a few who do stand up for the people and the country to stop the corporatism/fascism like the strong progressives, independents like Sanders and libertarians like Ron Paul.
Reagan really got the wheels turning and W kicked it into overdrive. Obama has been for the most part nothing but a moderate republican who caves and continues down the path to the destruction of the middle class. The republicans have the pedal to the floor and the democrats are hanging onto the bumper digging their feet into the ground, but still are on the ride to lead this nation into a corporatist/fascist reign.
This is a great segment by Paul explaining the situation

I think you're exactly right. The "American Dream" is exactly that: a dream! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand that if you have 100 dollars and 10 people, and 1 person has 90 dollars, that HE is the one who runs the show, and the other 9 will NEVER have what he has.

How is it that Americans are so easily hoodwinked???

Peace,
