The money brought in at the London event will give him a head start toward what he hopes will be an impressive haul for the current quarter, which began July 1.

Foreign "soft" money has been a republican staple for decades.

So that means Obama can do it right? Sad that discourse is reduced to this "well the Republicans did it."

Chill. Only US citizens and legal permanent residents can donate directly. Romney is making his case with expats.

Of course, after the Citizen United case, corporations are free to back their favorite candidate with as much money as they wish. But I am sure we can trust them to not use that mechanism to funnel in any sort of foreign money, nor would they ever expect favors in return.

Millions of dollars of labor union money will flood into the 2012 election in support of Obama and those lunatic union members might as well be from another planet much less another country.

Citizens United struck down the ban on foreign corporations donating money. Even before that case, said ban had never been enforced - both parties have been using foreign money to finance campaigns for years.

Writ of Mandamus. Your State is sovereign. You can legally bar money from other States flowing into your State to influence elections and ballot issues there. You can even bar money from the Democrat/Republican parties in Florida from going to the Democrat/Republican parties in Iowa in the same way you block a foreign corporation in another State from dumping money in your State to influence elections or ballot issues.

That's what happens when you have an ignorant electorate who are poorly educated in the workings of their government and its laws.
