Apparently their young generation is being brought up quite anti-American for some reason.

It's more complicated than anything. They don't like the troops here (a lot of American women don't like the troops here either). Many bars will block you if you are in the military. They're okay with teachers and other Americans.

The reason is because the younger guys go to Hongdae, Sinchon, Itaewon, and even here in Bundang and get in trouble. I've almost gotten into a fight with a soldier because he would not stop harassing a female teacher of ours. The problem was so out of hand they were not allowed in Hongdae after a certain time (MP would stop them).

Again teachers are generally tolerated. We get stares and the unwanted pro-bono English lesson while you're on the subway...but that's really about it.

Mathguy hit it on the head pretty well.

Yet they play so much World of Warcraft and Starcraft that they have to wear adult diapers.

Most people in the younger generation are cool with Americans.

The last time I checked "American" was not the Demonym of US Nationals.

If your passport says "American" under nationality then please post a picture of it.

"American" embassies do not exist. Since continents do not have embassies. Now, the "U.S." embassy does exist.

Captain U.S. American or Captain USA would be more accurate.

And it's great that the South Koreans have such anti-American sentiment that they can't have a film with America in the title being distributed in their country. Maybe we don't really need 50,000 US troops in that country at this point in history and could save some money by bringing them home.

Yeah, he didn't get anything at all for bowing and scraping to Middle Eastern princes and Far East dictators and even the Burger King.

You're attacking another poster's intelligence after you confused the words "succeed" with "secede"?

Mine says "United States of America". However, "American" is indeed a demonym of US nationals in the English language. It is not like other languages where there actually is a word that literally means "United Statsian" (in English, the term is nonsensical).

Didn't you know that people around the world call the US America as well?
