The bottom line with the legalization of MJ is an argument including morality, for some, health, for others and control for yet some others. IMO, the government is not that concerned as far as our general health goes. If they were, I would think they would give us more than lip service when it came to warnings about sugary foods (sodas, donuts and such) and junk food in general. Those arguably cause more health problems than pot. Childhood diabetes, heart problems, organ failure and many believe attention deficit / neurological issues. All these are increasing and all can be tied to diet to a great degree. But those foods are not illegal and pot, with the stigma of morality / health / control is. It took extreme attention (a huge anti-tobacco lobby) and time for the government to address the evils of tobacco.

Yes. There are some concerns healthwise with pot but there is with most things. Some times the benefits outweigh the costs. The government allows us to choose to eat junk food or not. To drink alcohol or not. to smoke tobacco or not. But cannibas...well that seems to be hypocisy at best.

There is absolutely no reason to keep pot illegal other than business interests.

But, whatever keeps the government's waste of money (aka: War on Drugs) going, amirite?

So what are the feds going to do when 90% of the us population is smoking mj? Imprison them all? Where? If so who will pay their wages? They are going to destroy this country in their failure to give up this joke 'war on drugs'! What an utter failure or federal govt has become. They sold the rights to each and every one of us to big pharma. The feds need a good ass kicking.

I have read that we have one of the largest prison populations in the world and approximately 25% of that population is non-violent drug offenders.

I don't think the government has any problem with criminalizing and incarcerating large segments of our society so yea, I guess they'll just keep locking them up.

I've never had chemotherapy but I know how it works and it's effectiveness. You do know there is a commercially available thc product for pain right?

Why do you think the government should tell us what to eat, drink or smoke?

All drugs should be legal.
Heroin too?

I know there are thc tablets but am not aware of the availability. So why not allow it to be more readily availble in other forms?

I think pot should be legal. I was merely pointing out it isn't a very effective pain reliever.
