Well, Sheila, if it really is all about race, then the only solution is to remove this (half) black man from the Presidency in 2012.
There. Problem solved.
Oh don't you know it. Well said, yes i agree. Shelia, makes everything it seems about race. I'm so tired of these people who play the race card, when ever it seems fesible for them.
I think Obama probably had some very harsh words for that woman and she probably won't spout such nonsense again. It's a shame when the man's detractors and opponents have more respect for him than his political allies. You can hope Ms. Jackson's backwards views are isolated and no doubt she's embarassed many in her party and the black community.
Let's just see the man failing at his job and not being able to clearly see any solutions to the problems we face, who is unwilling and unable to even know what some of the problems are. His race does not factor into the equation.
Perhaps Ms. Sheila Jackson Lee is more sensitive to race issues than someone that has not had to fight that battle all their life, as she probably has, but I don't think one person's comment makes a trend.
First of all, I don't see that it looks like Obama might fail. He's faced controversy and rebuke since his election, and he's still progressed on most of his agenda. Not only does he consider the American PEOPLE and is working toward THEIR interests, but in doing so he indirectly reveals the interest in the wealthy and big business of the GOP.
If he's about to fail, why is that he has already amassed more contributions for his re-election than all the GOP wanna be contenders, combined? And, why are the majority of those contributors individual voters -- not corporations or special interest groups -- as are the usual "suspects" that support GOP candidates?
No, regardless of what the GOP wants us to believe, President Obama has done a great job of protecting the interests of the American people, and he is being rewarded for the diligence he's shown.
He could be pink with purple polka dots and I will support him. There's no one else to support that considers people like us.
I have no doubt that much of the republican resistance is caused the fact that President Obama is black. Many of these republicans are closet racists who will sacrifice the entire country in an effort to oust Obama.
