People assumed it was a Muslim attack even after the news about the killing on the Island was made public. Read this thread. The news was that a Norwegian was caught and some here assumed he must be a convert. Even after the Island!!!

Natural for the ignorant, perhaps. Muslim extremists are responsible for a very small percentage of terrorist attacks in Europe. There's statistics and everything.

I am not one who has ever made any accusations that "it must have been (fill in the blank)" about any of the massacres the world has witnessed in recent years. Yet every act of terrorism is met with "it was a right winger" or "it was a Muslim terrorist" accusations from both sides. In one of the more recent shooting in this country there was even a left wing news personality (forget just who it was--someone here may remember it) who expressed regret that it was a Muslim who had done the shooting. This may have been the San Antonio massacre but I'm not sure. The point is that the left mostly wants these acts to be committed by a right wing extremist so they will have more ammunition with which to condemn conservatives and the right wing is quick to blame "Islamic extremists". Everyone suffers from acts of violence committed by extremists, no matter which side of the spectrum the extremist came from.

As for my age--how old are YOU?

Did you not at least suspect that it might have been Islamic terror? It would be a natural assumption to make, in light of recent history and the recent threats made by a Muslim cleric living in Norway.

When a masked person robs a store at gunpoint, don't we naturally assume the perp is male?

Default Normalcy bias lured them in.....

and a politically correct default to the fetal position when faced directly with violence instead of heeding the natural instinct to fight or to flee, contributed to some of their deaths.

At a hotel in the village of Sundvollen, where survivors of the shooting were taken, 21-year-old Dana Berzingi, wearing trousers stained with blood, said the fake police officer ordered people to come closer, then pulled weapons and ammunition from a bag and started shooting.

Several victims 'had pretended as if they were dead to survive,' Mr Berzingi said. But after shooting the victims with one gun, the gunman shot them again in the head with a shotgun, he said.

I don't understand why is everyone son hung up on the fact that he's Christian when it's pretty obvious that his motives were political?

The media reported early on the some sort of Islamic group claimed responsibility. So I dont think that helped in what people thought had happened. And let's not kid ourselves. No one wouldve been surprised if so Islamic Terrorist group was behind it.

And I highly doubt Christianity was behind this, for those who uttered something similar. No real Christian person would seek out and kill innocent people. These actions are the complete opposite the teachings of Jesus, and any true Christian knows that. And perhaps you Islamic defenders should know that too, as well as Islam is not a religion of peace of you look a t their own teachings. The terrorism that is going on through out the world is taken right from their "scriptures" of Muhammed.

This isnt about right wing left wing either. Being right or left, doesnt make you kill innocent people. Ones sick, twisted mind would. Sure, apparently politics may have been behind this, but to sit there and point your finger saying "ahh, it was a right winger" with joy is pretty pathetic.
