Ah, the constitutional defense of a giant, money sucking, black hole of taxpayer demise. Don't you guys see how much credibility you destroy everytime you balk at cutting defense spending. Let me make it clear to you: it makes you appear to be completely full of it. Which you are.
You don't care about government spending as long as it's on things YOU approve of.
Pretty tough to cut defense spending when our pres is getting us into MORE wars! The military has been cutting down in size through attrition and stiffer regulations meaning there are less and less troops to send over seas. Tell Obama to get our troops back home and I'm all for cutting the DoD. Until then anyone that wants to cut defense is full of it.
Congress passed a bill that the majority of those elected to office, have heard the cries for far too long, from the people that elected them.
They will be held accountable.
If I were speaker in congress Id keep making, pushing and passing bills on to the Senate, each one bigger and cutting even more spending.
Do you bother to get any of your info any place but Faux news? This wasn't a democratic issue. The House Republicans purposely put this piece of crap legislation through, just to get the Democrats in the Senate to overturn it.
That was their goal to make Democrats look bad for absolutely no reason, and you fell for it, hook line and sinker.
This was a political strategy to gain Republican Senate votes in 2012. Republicans are not trying to work on the economy, they are trying to get rid of Obama, even if it means destroying the world's economy to do it.
Wow, what a fantasy world you live in. Where fiscal responsibility and an attempt to solve our money issues is demonized. But sitting around with your thumb up your rear, criticizing those that are trying to solve the problem is the noble route.
There is no need for a "strategy" for 2012. This country is sick of the games being played by the dems in power, and the republicans that are ignoring the public. 2010 was a signal that they all missed completely. The job will be completed next year. Let's just hope we all make it through until then.

The Republicans has the majority of Congress and the President for six years and did nothing to address the debt or the budget. In fact, they voted to raise the debt limit numoerous times without any of the alarm we see in the current discussion. What's changed? This is an artificial crisis with the sole purpose of manufacturing issues for the 2012 election.
The debt is artificial?
At some point both sides need to stop playing politics and be responsible adults. Stop kicking the can down the road on programs that need fixing like Social Security as the sooner we fix it the less painful it will be.
There has been a social agreement in this country that taxes will be collected on income and this has been so long before you were born.
We've always done it that way argument from the earth is flat lemmings. It's not a "social agreement". Is that what the mafia calls it? I won't light fire to your business if you pay protection money.

A civil society doesn't use force and coercion to get what it wants. That's called tyranny and we fought a war over it during our nations founding.
So you would be the "voice of reason" to stand up in favor of Jim Crow then right? After all it's the price we pay to live in a civil society. Don't want "those uncivilized black people" to enjoy the same rights as others. Why if they don't like it they can just take the next slave ship back to Africa. That's what Lincoln wanted anyway.

Because when you use force to take someones property that's called stealing. Redefine theft all you want, it doesn't make it so.

Do as you're told mundane. Government knows whats best for you and whatever you do, do not protest to the theft of your money going to cause that isn't yours. Because government knows better, right?

I agree on bringing the troops home.
But if you do not fund wars, it makes it that much harder to wage wars.
