Reid's bill is "nothing on the table"? It's very similar to Boehner's plan with only minor differences. They haven't pushed it yet, because Republicans in the Senate are threatening a filibuster.
And how is downgrading our credit rating, damaging the dollar value, reducing our status as best financial asset in the world, and increasing interest rates on the debt we already have going to help this country?

Why is your side so afraid of this bill, I mean it wont pass right? Your team controls the Senate? Then Obummers will have en excuse to use the 14th. Oh how I hope he uses the 14th.
I don't know what part of you can't pass an amendment to the constitution in one week do you not understand. IT was a ceremonial bill and nothing else. You guys just don't listen even when your own party is trying to explain to you the realities of the situation.

Reid guaranteed Boehner's bill as DOA, so why bother to give him an opportunity to control a function that belongs in the House?
Wait til late Friday, vote, send the bill to the Senate, adjourn the House for the weekend. If the bill isn't sent to the President it will be entirely the fault of the Senate.
That is the Dems idea of a compromise. Say no to everything Republicans propose.
Reid, as any Senate can, present a plan to the House Leader who can turn it into a Bill, pass it and send it to the Senate to be passed as well. What part of that do you not understand?

This just isn't going to fly. As it stands, Democrats today are willing to accept a bill that does not raise taxes one cent. That's the equivalent of the Republicans being willing to accept a plan that is based soley on tax increases.

Yeah it appears that the radicalized arm of the Republican Party (The Tea Party) is holding our entire nation hostage. This isn’t at all surprising given that radicals often resort to terrorism as we’ve seen from Al-Qaeda and more recently the Norwegian Shooter. Fox News and Conservative talk radio have created a monster that even Speaker of the House John Boehner can’t control and now we’re all going to have to pay the price for that.
