The only idea the Democrats ever put forward is a variation of "Let the government help you" by raising taxes and spending more money.
The people running the Democrat party seem to think that there are no limits to how large the government should be, nor are there limits to how much money the government can print and spend.
This is statism. When all you care about is the central government and its ability to run people's lives from cradle to grave, then you are a statist. That is what today's Democrats are: statists.

I was sailor in my youth. I was sent to sea on an aircraft carrier that was older than I was. We were sitting ducks for the newer and better equipted soviet ships of that era. It wasn't a good feeling. Had war ever occured........I wouldn't have been here now and I knew this then. Not a good feeling.
I agree with this. Charge the market price for food. The founders would have never thought that was a legitimate responsibility for the federal government.
In case you hadn't noticed california and the southwest are being occupied and peopled with "seemingly" patriotic..................mexican nationals. Many of us in this country feel this constitutes an invasion by a foreign power, something the founders actually felt was a legitimate federal government responsibility.

It is more likely that the USA would annex the Northern Mexican states in the future. They are indistinguishable from any other American city (except for the Spanish language). Therefore our immigration policy is leading to an expansion of US territory into the Northern Mexico. Unlike you I am still hugely patriotic and believe that the US has a manifest destiny to expand across all of North and Central America. We should welcome a more open Southern border.
