Ten years is a long time, florida. The American people just got pooped out on the wars ... around 2009 or so. It probably is because of the recession. People are too busy hating our on domestic policy to hate on our foreign policy.

the freaking media has sterilized these wars and and made them "palatable".
we need a MARCH ON WASHINGTON to show our displeasure with american lives being lost, half-assed wars being fought, and generations of wealth being destroyed and/or diverted.
the federal reserve wouldn't be able to deny telling us what happened to the airplane loads of money "lost" in iraq if they didn't have the war excuse for diverting money.
the pentagon wouldn't be able to hide 8 billion missing dollars if they didn't have the war excuse for diverting money.
The fact that Obama has announced departure schedules and/or troop drawdowns from both places is very disheartening indeed.
What indeed is the point?
So much for commitment.
Marv, the official line here is that we need time to train and support the Afghan forces. That's why we're sticking around until 2014. We're pretty much finished with Iraq. The main mission there now is getting equipment out of the country.
This isn't so much about Obama. This is more or less what the Pentagon recommended. I seriously doubt we would have done anything differently no matter who was elected president in 2008.
So sad all these soldiers dying in vain for a lie.
But then they should have never enlisted to be pawns for our criminal government.
