Victims' lawyers condemn 'scandalous' defence that Catholic priests are not legally employees of the church.

Victims of sexual abuse by priests will no longer be able to sue the Catholic church for damages if a landmark judgment rules that priests should not be considered as employees.

Here's a video about the history of the Vatican's pedophilia paper trail. The earliest was older the New Testament!?

I am Catholic and happy to be that way.

However, it is atrocious how the Church has gotten away with murder.
I'm still waiting for an official Mea Culpa from the Vatican on this topic.
Waiting.
Waiting.
Waiting.

That being said, the Church is hardly the only religious organization, or organization in general, to be guilty of pedophilia crimes.
Doesn't make it right, but just throwing it out there that outrage should be evenly distributed.

I am all for victims of pedophilia (by the Church or any other organization/individual)
getting their own revenge, no matter what, and I would look the other way.

I agree with this. They should be suing the priest, not the church itself, and certainly not the head Catholic Church entity.

Suing the church is a tactic used when suing to make sure you actually get a pay off. Who knows if the priest will even be able to pay.....but we all know churches have tax free money stocked up. Or are at least more likely to be able to pay the damages. I think the priest should be sued too, but I was just pointing out why some people sue an entire company instead of one or 2 people.

The "Nest of Vipers" has knowingly harbored and maintained them and should be sued out of existence.

Absolutely!! These people are scum. Catholic church is spending all its efforts in damage control. Hope they have the pay bigtime - that is the "real" language they understand.

From http://www.breitbart.com/article.php...show_article=1

From the Vatican on down, the church has vowed to make peace with hundreds of victims of a decades-long epidemic of sex abuse by its priests. But "Dan Rather Reports" found evidence that the church has done just the opposite.....
