Obama's leadership style of calm and thoughtful is a whole hell of a lot better than the erratic and knee jerk reactions of most in the GOP. Obama's leadership as commander in chief will be a reason why he wins next year.
The guy who said it would be "days, not weeks", that has turned into months of intervening in a civil war the public was opposed to, spending even more money we don't have?
Of course the media will play this up as an obama win - that's all they have for good news.
I'd hardly call it that.
5 months for the greatest military nation on earth, raining down bombs and drones, spending hundreds of millions.....and finally, the guy might be on the way out?

"As the military action against Libya to give teeth to U.N. Security Council resolution 1973 began, one question kept nagging away: Why, precisely, were the governments of Britain and France in the lead? Why were their armed forces taking part in the military action, and why had their diplomats done the grunt work in the negotiations that led to adoption of the resolution?"
"On Libya, America was not the leader but the led. For weeks, the administration was paralyzed by intense, unresolved internal divisions. Meanwhile, Gaddafi promised to “cleanse Libya house by house.” France and Britain called for early action. The Arab League supported a military response. It was only last week — after a White House meeting described as “extremely contentious” — that the president finally settled on a course."
It is way to early to claim victory. If a government worse than Gaddafi (see Iran and Syria) takes control, then this will be a colossal failure.
