This is a silly and needs to be challanged............like to see how many people were Atheist going in to prison, and converted to Christianity while in prison.
Did you notice, there were no Mormons!!
There could be a couple of explanations for this oddity -- one of them being the fact that Mormons are Christians and would have been included in the Christian count.
Aint that funny Those who aren't god fearing towing the line...and those getting forgivin' every Sunday dancin' on it....Hmmmmm makes ya think. I think that makes an excellent case of scientific proof on moral values. Actually undeniable, irrefutable.
A person can spend their life in a bakery and claim to be a jelly roll, but, that doesn't make it so.
Having been active in prison ministry for many years, I would like to hope that 75% of the inmate population had converted to Christianity, but, it just isn't so! Yes, there are a large number of inmates who attend religious services ... and a large number (just as on the outside), who profess a belief in God. ... But, that and $3.95 will buy you a cup of coffee at Starbucks. You can't believe everything you read --- even if it supports your agenda!
How many people categorize themselves as Atheist versus Christian? With that said, it will be much easy to give the image that more Christians are in prison that Atheists because most people don't classify themselves as Atheists in comparison to Christian.
I hate to have to even respond to the thread, but that stuck out in my mind.

If you read the article you would have seen they didn't just say Christians. They happened to point out different Christians, like Catholics, Baptist, Methodists etc. I was merely pointing it out, no need to get defensive! Back at ya!!
Morality is a construct; a set of preferences deemed to be moral. Morals vary greatly from one set of preferences to another. The better question would be, How can a god exist without morality?
