Yes, History will Prove that to be correct. Just look how the US kept ruthless dictators in power to protect its economic interests: Iran, Guatemala, Mexico, Costa rica, Chile, Haiti, Cuba. Look at our current wars. do you honestly think that we would be in Iraq if not for its oil?

well Libya makes no sense fo Canada and the US to be in since the oil is for the EU...as for Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile and Mexico... I know Canada and has free trade agreements with most of them and we have pretty good relations with them esp Mexico and Costa Rica..South america is vital to build up strong ties with North America they are going to buy economic power houses esp brazil but China got there first..
as for Mexico the sooner we help their country out and build and update their infastruture and bring in Can & US College and university teachers and build new college and adavanced trade schools that met US and Canadian standards then we all benifit.
I mean we really dropped the ball on helping Mexico and we could make it into a 1st world county and get it to be heard and respected on the global stage...
then maybe we could take on China from stealing North American jobs...

We can't. Mexico is embroiled in too much corruption to help themselves. They are a huge basket case that needs sorting out.

Mexico could NEVER be a first world country because the elite would only keep the $$ for themselves and not pass it on tho the masses below them.
