Have you seen the READ A BOOK video (PSA?!!!) running on BET and YouTube? At first I was shocked and mad. Then I realized it was satire. Brilliant satire. Then I was shocked and mad as hell that BET was running it so that little kids saw it. I'm still pretty angry about that as my appreciation for the creator grows. A very bitter sweet bit of satire. So...anyone else have an opinion? Don't we protect little kids anymore?

Great message that could have been delivered without being vulgar and repulsive.................and no, little children are not protected anymore. Little children are the target.
Anything that does not kill them makes them stronger generally applies to kids as well as adults. Unless the anything damages them too severly to recover.
I'd rather have little kids listen to that then listen to the in's and out's of pimping. It's not vulgar. It's the only way to get that demographic to listen.

Its views like this that explain why many our youth today are crude rude and insolent. We are fast becoming a vulgar society. I wonder if the above posters would hire foul mouthed youth to represent their business or if they would be embarrassed to be in their company if they repeated the words in this video.
It’s pretty sad to think we are no longer creative enough to get a message across to children unless it is delivered in the most degrading and vulgar way.

If they keep the vulgarities to their personal life and don't do it around patrons/customers, are polite, and they do their job well, why should I care?

Do you think it is only patrons/customers that are exposed to vulgar youth? I cannot believe anyone can find this appealing or acceptable. We really are becoming a vulgar crass society.
I have never saw this on BET and I watch it regularly...and yes it was done for satire. Surely, IMO they think that this is how to get across to people since people are so influenced by rap, why not let the rap be about stuff that need to matter instead of violence and women.
Im 21 and know how to read between the lines.....so why don't you all?
Anyone that has watched any BET knows that the station has a major major amount of rap vids with plenty of guns, booty etc. If you are letting your kid watch BET or it's equivalent counterpart MTV and are upset by something like this....then you probably haven't been paying close enough attention to the general content of those stations. :-)
