I was reading today that the Supreme Court will begin hearing the constitutional case for/against Obamacare in early 2012 with a ruling likely in mid to late 2012. If the US Supreme Court rules in favor of the American people and rules that Obamacare is indeed unconstitutional right before the 2012 elections it's going to destroy any momentum that Obama might have gained. It will be seen as a huge blow against this unqualified president and will be viewed by millions as proof that there is indeed justice in this country for those who follow the US Constitution.
I look forward to the SCOTUS hearing this case given the likelihood that they will strike it down as they should. Does anyone have and solid dates on when this might begin?
I don't know, I can see it enraging his supporters and helping actually.
Helping him? Yeah, not likely. He's not going to pick up any new voters, his base is either with him now or they'll be missing in 2012. His supporters don't care about details or legality issues, they'll support him no matter what but if the SCOTUS rules his self described main accomplishment as unconstitutional it's going to completely destroy his ability to appeal to any independent who might have been ignorant enough to vote for him.

Yeah, Im not saying it gets him NEW voters, I'm saying it gets more to come out who already blindly support him that may have otherwise planned to stay home...they will see a SCOTUS decision against it as a reason to actually get out and vote again instead of sitting it out.

Everyone but the most left liberal wants this law revoked.
If the Justices reverse it in part, there will still be a Republican majority to repeal the rest.
If it is approved, there will be an even bigger Republican majority to repeal it.
The big question is, will Republicans once elected repeal this law like Americans most all want them to?
It's not as if politicians pay much attention to the voters these days. Obama practically urinates on the American people daily.
Tomorrow he is again on his tax increase to close America down.
The man is insane.
No, his supporters are for his health reforms, that is why they voted for him, they do not go far enough, there should be a public option as well
There are no health care reforms.
Where has he opened competiton and made tort reform so each doctor can work without a $250,000 a year liability policy?
BS: Obama care is YOU BUY IT OR BE FINED.
Then he pushed in the end only the government one by forcing private sector folks out and all you have is a high cost government cluster F(you know what).
I'm with Lakeman, as are a number of liberals--they bill didn't go far enough. In this case, I'd rather see a single-payer system. We'd spend less over time and receive better healthcare for it, all without private insurance company death-panels.
I don't think it will be struck down in the first place. There is not a single circuit court that has struck down the health care bill in its entirety. The argument has been about the individual mandate and challenges to that have been rejected by 2 circuits. The only circuit that can be even construed to have sided with the right wing in some vague notion is the 11th circuit and they ruled that the mandate was severable from the rest of the bill which can stand.

Without the mandate it's toast, it doesn't matter if they strike down part or all of it.
