It's like writing an article about potatoes and having a picture of spaghetti at the top.

The condemned man will get a last meal, he just won't get a choice. You all save your rage or exultation for something else.

How about a steel-toe sandwich for a last meal? Aw c'mon, what's a swift kick to the teeth gonna change? It'll at least brighten the day for a prison guard or two.

It would be easier to list the "perverted" parts of the world that still deem the death penalty to be anything approaching a civilized form of justice.

I am for the death penalty, in fact I would prefer we did it with a 45acp to the back of the head. That bullet cost is less than a dollar and every bit as lethal as that drug cocktail for a fraction of the cost.
That said.
Because the individual we are executing is a rabid dog does not mean that we should lower ourselves to his level.

By the way, 139 people who were sentenced to die on were later exonerated, so unless you folks can assure me beyond a doubt that those 139 were all of those wrongly convicted drop me a line.

Uh oh. Wiki link, you lose.

And am I supposed to give a rat's how many countries are limp-wristed criminal coddlers like you? Let's adopt all the other policies of Western European socialist countries and pissant South American banana republics. Why don't we just cede all of our sovereignty to the U.N. and transplant our entire criminal justice system to The Hague. Would that make you happy?

It is really quite simple. Don't come to Texas and kill people, or we will kill you back. I'd like for the death penalty to be "safe, legal and rare". Now just convince people not to commit murder and you won't have to lose anymore sleep over it.
