What does that have to do with his beef about his secretary being taxed at a higher rate than he is?
It has to do with engaging in debate with real data from BOTH sides, to bring home the point. If one side asks for his details, it stands within reason for him to demand that from his opposition. Now, why would and should they not oblige?

What the tax return will show is that Buffet lives on $100k per year which he withdraws from his company. This is the only income he is taxed on since investments are only subject to income taxes when they are cashed out. His secretary receives a salary of $160K per year. The reason she is taxed at a higher rate on her income is because her income is higher than his.
The sad part is that the secretary "paying more" has been explained ad nauseum, but the psuedo-intellect sheep still fall for his little tale.
Then when both left leaning and right leaning news exposed his Berkshire-Hathaway tax issues - somehow it doesn't mean anything to the emotional knee-jerk crowd.
I really shouldn't be surprised then so many fall for Buffet's con game and miss his PR campaign to sit next to Immelt at the gov't handout table.
"Republicans demanded Thursday that billionaire investment guru Warren Buffett reveal his tax returns if his views on tax rates are going to serve as the basis for the White House’s proposals."
Fact Check: Obama is not comparing the income tax that Buffet and other millionaires pay to the income tax that Buffet's secretary and construction workers pay. Clearly, high income earners would be in a higher tax bracket and thus pay higher income taxes. He's talking about wealthy Americans like Buffet who derive a large part of their income from investments.
Capitol gains and dividends are taxed at about 15 percent. According to Buffett, who has released his 2010 tax return, he paid about 17.4 percent on his income compared to his staff, who pay between 33 percent and 41 percent on their income.
