There is noting wrong with the media, just the defect in your heart because you have assiduously left out important components of the story such as the fact that, a. she is not just someone her name is Kimberly Vaughn, b. her husband was Petty Officer Aaron Vaughn a Navy SEAL who was involved in the killing of Osama bin Laden, c. her husband along with 29 of his comrades were killed in August while serving in Afghanistan, and d. as anyone should know a wedding ring particularly for a surviving spouse is an eternal reminder of a love lost and remains a symbol of commitment and love. Now besides the fact that it is a compelling human interest story, the "media" has picked it up national in the hope that by publicizing it perhaps someone will find the ring that was lost while traveling on a commercial airliner and return it to her.
Now if you think all of that is a waste of ink, bandwidth and time, like I said before, there is something wrong with your heart.

Ovcatto's right (and I don't say that very often). I hadn't heard about this story since I haven't been watching TV lately but I hope someone finds her ring and returns it to her.
Being done for the right reason, gees, have a bit of compassion!
