I know that you are being sarcastic, but you're closer to the truth than you suspect.

I think all those on unemployment and or welfare should be expected to work up to 30 hours a week for these benefits. Community service jobs, cleaning up trash etc.

What an idiot.
There is a reason i don't respect politicians from Chicago.
Also glad Illinois is losing a congressional seat now we just have a few more to go and Chicago won't be able to influence Washington.

He's a traitor. Wants to scrap the Constitution? That's treason, in my book, if you're in congress.

I knew he wasn't very bright, but this is ridiculous.

The last thing that ctities and states need is a bailout.

He can't be serious.

Serious or not..it will make his constituents happy that he is "fighting for them" with his ideas. That's all it will take to get him re-elected by his voters. Promise them the world..

$40K X 14M unemployed = $560B. Obama's "jobs" plan is $495B and all it does is "support" the jobs of 1M or so union workers. And Jackson is the one getting ridiculed here???

So he is sugesting that 40,000 be the new poverty level? The cash for a load of bread might not fit in a single pocket then.

Hiring "all" unemployed is a stretch.

But I would support hiring those that actually WANT to work, and use them to finish the projects that we have sitting out there.

High Speed Rail - sitting there, could use some of these free hands to get this done.

Road renovation

City renovation (Detroit anyone?)

Farming

etc etc etc. Basically, do the work that nobody else is willing to do right now.

I'm employed now, but would gladly work for the government if it meant a security clearance.
