Another libbie witchhunt this time against one of their own. The author makes an interesting point why this investigation is absurd.

Education Department Targets L.A. Schools for Low Black, Hispanic English Achievement - Forbes

Quote:
The headline news in yesterday’s L.A. Times was that the Department of Education settled its civil rights enforcement action against the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD). The Education Department claimed that LAUSD institutionally discriminated against black and Latino high school students in the teaching of English.

Got to blame someone or something because it's surely not the parent's or student's fault they cannot learn English even with special English learning programs not available to the Asians who are doing well at that same school.

And I'm sure it's not the resources as that article states that more money is spent on the inner city schools than the outlying middle class schools to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars.

You will never fix the problem until you admit you have a problem and own up to it.
Blaming something/someone else will not fix it or make it go away. It will only get worse.

Why must liberals always insert race-based philosophies into our children's lives?

I actually agree. But this shouldn't be about race or a partisan issue. Yes it starts at home, but if these kids fail to grasps simple grammer or english why are they allowed to pass to the next level or grade? When I was in grade school in the late 70's early 80's you were pulled out if class to learn according to your grade level and also if you couldn't pass the thre major subjects which included reading and writing you were not promoted. Now why is this a partisan issue?
