At first, yes defense. But once someone is disabled and you keep beating them on the ground, it's overkill. Then it becomes no- assault. Whatever is happening behind that counter, all I can see is him beating at the ground. Perhaps the customer is doing something menacing or reaching for an object?
Good thing there are loud mouthed white ladies around reminding people of what decency is supposed be about before this man went so far to kill them. What a shame. Truly.
When a customer acts this out of control with themselves from the beginning it's best they be escorted out. The customer was the aggressor.
I didn't vote on this because I couldn't- you didn't have both as an option. I took a peek at the poll results and seems the very same jury who would claim Rodney King was a victim voted consistently here. The same jury of bloggers who would claim Rodney was a perpetrator voted consistently as well.
You've GOT to be kidding! The US "tends to avoid war as much as possible????"
No, I wouldn't defend "my country." Where I was born was not decided by me, I just happened to be born there. But I feel no "obbligation" to kill others who want to live there as well. It would be just more animal behavior.
Peace,
brian
Point one, you'll get no argument from me. Point two, well, I'm not about to compromise the safety of my family, and sit there and let some other country walk right in and try to take over. And if you don't fight back, they'll kill you without a second thought! With that said, I don't see another country ever trying to take over the US. It wouldn't happen, not with the 2nd Ammendment. Not only would that invading force have to fight our military, but our citizens as well.

Indeed. Personally, I don't think there are any countries who want to "take over" the US. There might be leaders who would change much of US policy, but that's a far stretch from war.
The problem, aisi, is that war is big business. And many big businesses benefit from war.
At what price is progress good? When will we give human life more value than a barrel of oil, or a plot of land?
Our country's values need to change. There are too many people using the label "Christian" to get whatever they want, at whatever price. And too many people either don't see it, or they do but they don't say anything about it.

Unfortunately human nature has a dark side. Personally, I try to treat others how I'd like to be treated, whether it's as simple as opening a door for someone, or letting someone into my lane when in traffic. You know, common courtesy. You attract more flies with honey, than with vinegar. However; there have been those instances where I've had to defend myself, as I'm not a punching bag.
And yes, a lot of people use the label "Christian" very loosely. But again, we're human, and we're not perfect.

If only everyone did as you wrote here^^^! Then we'd be progressing much faster!
My hope is that we are moving forward and not backwards.
Peace!
