Yep. I've always been a white knuckled flyer. I'm also afraid of heights. ....deathly afraid of heights as a matter of fact. I don't even like going up a ladder. Being a paratrooper didn't cure me of that, nor did i expect it to.

Doesn't matter. I like to conquer my fears, not succumb to them. That said, i've never conquered those fears, but i can overcome them.

Default Who cares?

The attractiveness of the flight attendants means nothing. Being charged for baggage, charged extra if it's heavy, having to pay for meals, being squeezed into uncomfortable seats that may not be the same ones you reserved, and putting up with routinely crowded flights, are far bigger concerns.

I hate to fly now. Unattractive flight attendants are fine with me if I can fly comfortably with leg and elbow room, on an occasional flight that is not fully booked, where I don't have to pay for checking in luggage, where I don't have to pay for a decent meal, and where flights are routinely on time.

Best flight ever was a Continental flight from NY to SF. Big plane that wasn't crowded, 5 maybe 6 seats in the middle, nobody on either side of me as I sat in the middle section. Plenty of leg room. Meals were free. Checking baggage was free. I was so relaxed the entire trip. No hassles. I don't even remember what the flight attendants looked like. That was 1987!

Pay for bags, no way. I adore Southwest Airlines, friendly crews, on time, what's not to like? Now if we could add their 1970s crews and outfits at the same price, go for it!

After 9/11 I'd prefer to have a male flight attendant who knows martial arts.
