To Republicans: SOME regulation of markets is a good thing. Such as not allowing monster cell phone companies to buy or crush their smaller rivals as happened when AT&T attempted to buy T Mobile. One of the few things I agree with the Obama administration on is enforcement of the Anti Trust laws.
To Democrats: Yes my friends, FREE markets do work without the need for government intervention. As long as the government preserves healthy competition via Anti Trust and price fixing schemes, the markets CAN and WILL prevent excesses without government needing to put its hand in the cookie jar.

Uhhhhhhhh, no kidding we need regulated markets. On a scale of 0-100 of regulation, we need around a 15, we're currently at a 60.

Socialism has nothing to do with statist, burdemsome, stupid regulations that are preventing our economy from recovering.

Good regulation: utilities monopoly regulation- necessary evil

Bad regulation: everyone should own a house/everything these 3 bond rating agencies say is gospel/no more light bulbs/etc

Which regulations say everyone should own a house and no more light bulbs? I must have missed those regulations being put in place.

Oh, you mean the new regulations that say incandescent light bulbs can still be sold if they are as efficient as cfl light bulbs? I know about those regulations.

I wasn't aware of the regulations saying "no light bulbs." That's the one I've never heard of, you dolt.
