His parents were not US citizens at the time of his birth.

No they weren't, but they were here legally.

Yes, the definition of an anchor baby includes parents who came here illegally and gave birth to cash in on the misinterpretation of the 14th amendment so they can beat the immigration laws. That's not the case with Marco Rubio's parents.

Michelle Malkin, who has a particular obsession with them...even belonging to a borderline white supremacist group to champion getting rid of them. The sad part is she is a well documented anchor baby when her parents came from the Philippines.

I wonder how far away you could hear the whines if she ever got what she wanted.

For one the laws. Plus like you admit, the illegals have a greed motive, they don't come for political or religious freedom, it's their lust for easy money that motivates them to break our laws. Greed is their motive.

Mexico most definitely is a democracy. The illegals from that country aren't fleeing anything, they are coming for the money, nothing more.

They were here legally every green card holder determines when and if they choose to become naturalized US citizens. As a child of naturalized US citizens it's not always an easy decision. Sometimes immigrants hold on to the belief they will return or attached sentimentally to their country of origin. I suspect that was the case with Rubio's parents.

They were documented at the time, with immigration process going on. They were not here unknown and working under the table.

He is not an anchor baby because his parents entered the US legally.

However, had Rubio's parent been from any other country, they likely would have been considered illegal. Alas, we have certainly made sure that particular group that has been granted special rights.

Should be interesting for some on here to look up who made sure this particular group had and still has special rights.
