That video is hilarious. Not only are some of their statements about Washington suspect, but there is absolutely no evidence, even anecdotally, that Washington is not taught in schools. Every American history textbook I have ever seen (middle school and above) includes Shay's rebellion, the example they use. The guys around that table must have had a good laugh after taping about the gullibility of the audience.
I don't mean to belittle you but you are free to watch the OP link so you can see some reference to the cherry tree incident. When I was in elementary school from late 1930s to mid-1940s they made him out to be a hero for that little story that the experts on George Washington talking on the video said never happened.

At least you saw the video. However, I believe you went into the seeing with a bit of a left lean and came out thinking that those people who have studied the subject and written extensively on it were all wrong about so much. I agree about Shays Rebellion but I never taught it just to be showing it. I did that to show how much Washington wanted to make the federal government a real part of our lives without using force to prove that force was the way to get things done. He didn't care for the taxes but they had been passed by the Congress and his sworn duty was to enforce the law.
