High speed rail from Orlando to Tampa? You've got to be kidding.

Government is FAT, and it needs to be trimmed. Not with a scalpal, but with an axe.
The IRS has to exist. Regardless of what you call it, some government agency has to collect taxes. Taxes fund government programs. The individual income tax is just one tax the IRS collects. You can do away with this or that tax but the Internal Revenue Service will be one of the last agencies to go if the whole government went away. However, there are some other agencies or Departments that we can do without. The Department of Education, for example, didn't exist until 1979. You could make the case that it has done nothing to improve the education of US children since it came into existence seeing as how we are so non-competitive with other countries in math, science and reading these days. It needs to be downgraded from a Department (meaning lots of executive and high paid feds get eliminated) and get out of the way of the states. I would think even the teachers unions and school administrators would want their bureaucratic red tape to go away so they can get back to educating versus administrative work. Secondly, have you seen the organizational structure for Obamacare? Yikes!

The problem with stimulus was it wasn't stimulus. The states used the money they got to pay their bills and most of the rest of it was earmarks for friendlies of the Democrat Congress, Senate and the President. Like Bush, can you name all of the bills that Obama has vetoed?

Right now they could put into place a hiring freeze and lose government employees through attrition (retirement, quitting) and not replace them. This way, no one loses a job and yet there are still cuts. Like you, I'm waiting for the candidate who will say these things.

I'm not a scientist, so I'm hardly the person to answer that question. I'm sure that for every pollutant they've got right, there are a few they have wrong...thats just the nature of nobody being perfect.

Why 5 million? Is there a calculation you used to arrive at that number? What about federal contractors? Be specific.

Anyone who has their head on straight can see that these recipients ( nearly 100% Democrats ) don't contribute sensibly to the process.

They only take from it.

Millions of people didn't have to be hired in the first place. It is an FDR mentality that Democrats have adopted. That government is ALWAYS the solution.

Sorry, the hiring of millions of people, who are not any longer useful, was a failure.

Phase them out and occupy Wall Street.

And why do you think they're so much better? Because of EPA regulations. Take those away, and how long will it take corporations to start cutting corners again?
They have shown no regard for the welfare of the average American citizen in any other areas, unless you happen to be an investor. Out-sourcing, cutting benefits, workers receiving no wage increases for years, for example.
