Mitch Mcconell says that Congress will extend the payroll tax reduction for one year. However, he does not agree with the democrats on how it is to be paid for, so far the Republicans do not have a different plan than the Democrats plan to tax the wealthiest 1%.

The forum partisans will have a hard time defending McConnell's statemnt that they believe the tax cuts should be paid for. Wait a minute Mitch what happend to cutting taxes brings more money to the treasury? Since when have tax cuts have to be paid for been in the {R} ideology ? Is Mitch trying to tell us that tax cuts for the poor and middle class have to be paid for but for the wealthy they don't?

I would like it extended as well... pay too much in taxes already.... any cut would be appreciated...

Well...to be fair...since the payroll taxes are used to fund Social Security, why not just cut the benefits sufficiently to pay for the proposed tax cut?

Perhaps eliminating the planned cost of living increase for next year will pay for the Payroll Tax reduction.
